Patrick Pagano uses the multi-disciplinary technological fields of computer science, video, audio, photography and the integration of these primary devices with a digital praxis. He has over 20 years of experience in the fields of Advanced Media Systems, Projection Design, Live Performance Production and computer programming. An expert in the use of various digital software production tools, Patrick received his BS in Telecommunications from the University of Florida, an MFA in Digital Arts and Sciences from the University of Florida. In Addition, he recieved a degree in Just Intonation and Electronic Instrument Design from the South East Just Intonation Society.

      Mr. Pagano’s research in the area of digital fine arts has led to the development of a suite of open source tools specifically geared towards hybrid media performance, theatrical projection and electro-acoustic soundscapes. Having produced and appeared on over 50 audio recordings, Mr. Pagano is an accomplished composer & multi-instrumentalist, he currently plays over 10 instruments including: Sitar, guitar, Tamboura, Violin, Piano, Synthesizer (s), Clarinet and flute. He has also led workshops  on Tibetan & Mongolian overtone singing.  In 2010 Pagano performed “Raga Shree” with Ravi and Anoushka Shankar at the University Center for Performing Arts in Gainesville Florida culminating over 20 years of Hindustani Raga research & study.

     From 2004 to 2015 he  focused on  National conference workshops as well as International conferences in Australia for Drama Victoria & Canada for the International Digital Media Arts Association .  Pagano performed and coordinated streaming live A/V performances @ Emily Carr University in Vancouver during IDMAA 2010 with a networked 5.1 audio server for motion capture systems controlling audio on 5 continents simultaneously as well as sold out conference workshops for 10 years in a row for the South Eastern Theatre conference in the USA.

In 2017, Pagano brought his research in VR, WEB APIs and Linux based arts to the University of Connecticut, Stamford Campus in Stamford, CT.  As head of the Web and Interactive track he teaches courses in interactive web design with Javascript, IXD Design  & Aesthetics Interactive Programming in Max7, AudioDesign in AbletonLIve and IXDs -Interactive Storytelling and Projection Design with VDMX & Isadora.
